Gazprom knows how to extract gas and to protect nature

At development of extractive fields in Yamal “Gazprom” pays big attention to ecology in order to save fragile nature of the region. This information was given by the head of the company Aleksey Miller in the interview with the channel “Rossiya 24”.

“An ecological component is extremely significant. “Gazprom”, fulfilling its projects in the sphere of extraction and transport, of course, pays close attention to issues of ecology. Especially, these issues are important for the Arctic zone. Yamal is a unique place, arctic nature is very fragile, and we foresee all necessary measures in order to work on the highest ecological standards”, as he noted. According to Aleksey Miller, permanent monitoring of ecological situation is conducted in extractive fields of Yamal. Gas workers take care of protection of flora and fauna in the region. In particular, they completely exclude possibility of pollution of water resources in Yamal, as the closed cycle does not suppose any discharge to water reservoirs and soil. In 2019 “Gazprom” will start full-scale development of Kharasaveyskoye field in Yamal. “If to speak about how we shall develop Kharasaveyskoye field with consideration of ecological requirements, then, first of all, we shall use the experience that we already have in development and exploitation of Bovanenkovo field”, as the head of “Gazprom” said. Also, according to him, special bridge passages will be built both in Bovanenkovo and Kharasaveyskoye, in order to provide free migration of reindeer across communications of the gas enterprise.
