Its presentation was held within the seventh all-Russian nature festival “Primordial Russia”. “Gazprom” was its general sponsor. Authors, representatives of the Gydansky National Park and the Vernadsky Non-governmental Environmental Foundation were invited to the event.

The ecological and educational project of “Gazprom dobycha Yamburg” is dedicated to the northernmost national park in Western Siberia located beyond the Polar circle. They include the polar bear, the Atlantic walrus, the white-billed loon, the white-tailed sea eagle, and the peregrine falcon.

The book includes about 500 unique images of the Arctic tundra. Each photograph is a story about the unique nature of the severe region, about rare inhabitants of the Gydan Peninsula and about scientific activity on the territory of the National Park. The photo album was published in 2 thousand copies. The bigger number of the books was donated to libraries, educational institutions, museums of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Gydansky National Park and the Vernadsky Foundation. Also they were sent to UNESCO, the Ministry of natural resources and environment of the Russian Federation, the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
