Horses from Yakutia can appear in Yamal

Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is interested in fulfillment of projects of horse herding, which successfully works in the Republic of Sakha.

It was declared by the representatives of the delegation from Yamal in the course of the official visit to Yakutia. The delegation is planning to visit the stud-farm "Berte" and to study experience of horse herding in severe climate conditions. Earlier the issue of horse herding in northern conditions was discussed in the Yakutsk State Academy of Agriculture, which expressed the wish to educate agricultural personnel on directions of horse herding and reindeer husbandry for Yamal. As it is underlined by the first deputy governor of Yamal Aleksey Sitnikov, who is the head of the delegation, the most suitable districts for horse herding in Yamal are – Krasnoselkoup and Shuryshkarskiy. As he says, specialists of Yamal count on so that horses of Yakutia are unpretentious and strong. Specialists of Yakutia will accompany them to Yamal and will start education specialists of Yamal to work with horses, because it is different from traditional reindeer husbandry. Beside delivery of horses from Yakutia to Yamal, the opportunity to deliver reindeer from Yamal to Yakutia is being scrutinized. Yamal has 700 thousand reindeer; this is the largest herd in Russia. Yakutia is the second largest subject on the number of reindeer. This information is given by the deputy chairperson of the government of Yakutia Pyotr Alekseyev. By his words, specialists of the two regions will study logistics, passages, in order reindeer from Yamal would appear in Yakutia. The 18th of June is the third day of the visit of the official delegation from Yamal to Yakutia. The sides shared experience in several spheres: protection of ecology, prospects of development of agro-industrial complex, scientific and technical potential, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. As we should remind, the official delegation of Yakutia visited Yamal in April. The representatives of specialized departments of the regions conducted the working conference on issues of northern reindeer husbandry. They signed the agreement about cooperation between the Union of Reindeer Herders of Yamal and the Association of Reindeer Herders of Yakutia. The sides discussed issues of perfection of regional legislation for support of traditional branches in northern regions of Russia. The representatives of the delegation from Yakutia got acquainted to specifics of processing of venison on the base of the enterprise "Yamalskiye Oleni" (Yamal Reindeer) and visited the fish-processing plant in Salekhard.
