Icebreakers of Atomflot completed piloting of a tanker from the Gulf of Ob
The nuclear-powered icebreakers "Taymyr" and "Vaygach" belonging to Atomflot completed piloting of the tanker "Ice Eagle" with the cargo 16 thousand tons of oil from the Gulf of Ob.
The ship has already reached Cape Zhelaniya and now is going to the port of Murmansk. This tanker is the 7th in a row since the beginning of work on offloading of oil from Novoportovskoye field on the Yamal peninsula, as it is informed on the portal severpost.ru. Work on the contract with the company "Gazprom Neft" will last from January to July of 2016. It is planned that nuclear-powered icebreakers will provide 6 operations on piloting of tankers per month. Participation in winter offloading of oil from Novoportovskoye field was not difficult for sailors of Rosatomflot. They know this work well. Piloting of ships is conducted in a usual mode. This information was given by the deputy director general on exploitation of the fleet at Atomflot Andrey Smirnov. As we should remind, the first offloading of oil by sea from Novoportovskoye field took place on the 20th of February of 2015. Now the nuclear-powered icebreaker "Vaygach" is working towards the port of Sabetta. The icebreaker "Taymyr" is going to Vilkitsky Strait towards the caravan consisting of the ships "Kapitan Danilkin" and "Yuriy Arshenevsky". The icebreaker "Yamal" continues working within the scientific and research expedition "Kara Winter – 2015".
