In Yamal 27 thousand families received access to optical networks in 2017

The company “Rostelecom” summed up the results of building of optical networks of communication on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug: other 27 thousand families in the arctic region received access to high-speed internet in 2017.

Modernization and development of telecom-infrastructure was conducted on the territory of 17 populated areas of Yamal. According to the information given by the director of the Yamal-Nenets branch of “Rostelecom” Alexander Oboltin, it is important to note that in Yamal “Rostelecom” not only develops and modernizes networks of communication inside populated areas but also is busy with active work on extension of main channels. In 2017 the company increased capacities of main lines to Beloyarsk, Salemal, Panayevsk, Yar-Salye, Labytnangi and Zapolyarniy. Already today inhabitants of these populated areas can see increase in speed of access to internet and principal improvement of quality of the company’s services without growth of access fee. The basic amount on forming of networks last year was on the account of Salekhard: domestic distribution subscriber access networks based on GPON technology were built in 467 apartment buildings. By the results, more than 7500 families in Salekhard received access to internet on optical networks. According to the information given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the branch of the company, the second place is taken by Noyabrsk: more than 2800 families of the town already today can receive modern telecommunication services of the company “Rostelecom”. Labytnangi takes the third place among the leaders. The intra-urban optical communication line with the length of twenty kilometers, domestic distribution subscriber access networks based on GPON technology appeared in 132 apartment buildings. After the building process was completed, more than 2200 households received access to optical networks of access to internet.
