In Yamal “Gazprom Neft” develops oil rims, Achimov and Neocomian-Jurassic deposits
The Board of Directors of “Gazprom Neft” reviewed information on the progress of projects being implemented by the company under long-term risk operating agreements in extractive fields of “Gazprom”. The company’s involvement in these projects allows fulfilling targeted development of oil, gas, condensate deposits within assets of “Gazprom”.
The scheme of long-term risk operating agreements provides that “Gazprom Neft” invests its own funds in geological exploration and construction of infrastructural facilities, while consolidating reserves, extraction and the financial result from implementation of these projects.
By working on the basis of long-term risk operating agreements, the company significantly expanded its portfolio of projects, starting development of oil rims, Achimov deposits and Neocomian-Jurassic gas and gas condensate deposits. Currently, the company’s subsidiary, “Gazpromneft-Zapolyarye” received access to development of nine extractive fields that are licensed by “Gazprom” and its subsidiaries: Pestsovoye, Yen-Yakhinskoye, Zapadno-Tarkosalinskoye, Chayandinskoye, Yamburgskoye, Orenburgskoye, Urengoyskoye, Kharasaveyskoye and Bovanenkovskoye.
Last year 13 milliard 500 million rubles were invested in implementation of projects under long-term risk operating agreements, as the press center of “Gazprom Neft” reports. It gave the opportunity to prepare the fields for full-scale operation in accordance with the planned deadlines. The accumulated extraction within the projects on “Gazprom” assets amounted to 366 thousand tonnes of oil.
The program of 2020 provides for the start of full-scale infrastructure construction in Pestsovoye, Yen-Yakhinskoye, Chayandinskoye, Zapadno-Tarkosalinskoye and Orenburgskoye fields, and the continuation of pilot industrial operations in Yamburgskoye field. It also includes the start of pilot industrial operations in Urengoyskoye oil, gas, condensate field, Achimov gas condensate deposits of Pestsovoye field and Neocomian-Jurassic deposits of Kharasaveyskoye and Bovanenkovskoye fields.
As it should be noted, development of oil rims, Achimov deposits and Neocomian-Jurassic gas and condensate deposits requires use of technologically complicated methods.
An oil rim is a part of an oil-gas or oil, gas, condensate deposit, where gas occupies considerably larger amount than oil. In fact, it is a thin layer of oil between a larger gas cap and a water layer. Effective development of such geologically complex resources requires introduction of new technological solutions at drilling of difficult wells, search for ways to lift liquids with high gas content and also requires high accuracy of integrated design.
Achimov deposits are strata located in the lower part of Cretaceous deposits almost directly above the Bazhenov formation (a group of rocks in Western Siberia that lie at depths of two-three-four kilometers). Achimov deposits are distributed in the central area of the West Siberian basin, the most powerful layers were found in Nadymskiy and Purovskiy districts of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Achimov deposits are characterized with a complex geological structure, what requires use of technologically complex methods for development of these reserves.
Neocomian-Jurassic gas and gas condensate deposits are deep layers of Kharasaveyskoye and Bovanenkovskoye fields, they belong to the lower division of Cretaceous and Jurassic systems. They are located at depths from 1600 to 3300 meters and are characterized with complex geological conditions: high reservoir pressure and often - low reservoir permeability.
