Leading regional mass media and 7 municipal TV and radio companies participated in the press-tour to Sabetta. The company "Yamal LNG" organized the tour by the initiative of the press-service of the governor of Yamal.

During two days the journalists visited the sea port of Sabetta, saw reservoirs of liquefied natural gas, the future electric power station with the capacity 376 megawatt, one of drilling rigs "Arktika" and the settlement for workers. The first deputy director on building of "Yamal LNG" Dmitriy Monakov told about fulfillment of the international project. He focused attention on advantages of the future plant on liquefying of natural gas on the Yamal Peninsula. The main advantage is in location – the plant is situated on the territory of gas extraction – the South-Tambey gas condensate field. Proved reserves here reach about 1 trillion cubic meters of gas. The project of development of the field foresees 280 exploitation wells, 31 of them were drilled (58 are necessary to provide the first stage of the future plant). As he says, innovative technologies on liquefying of gas will not be used, only proven methods. It is done intentionally, because the fact of building of the LNG-plant in arctic latitudes is already a challenge, a serious task. However, here low temperatures give advantages. 96% of LNG have been already contracted on long-term basis, predominantly for deliveries to countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The plant on liquefying of natural gas consists of three stages in 5 million and 500 thousand tons per year each with startup in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The strategy of modular construction is used in this work, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. The airport "Sabetta" started receiving aircrafts this February. Geography of flights includes Moscow, Noviy Urengoy, Samara. More than 400 flights were fulfilled; more than 38 thousand passengers were serviced. Building of the fourth cargo moorage in the sea port of Sabetta will be completed in the end of June. Besides, two moorages purposed for offloading of commercial product are ready on 20 percent. The sea port should be ready to receive LNG-tankers till 2017. Direct delivery of LNG on the Northern Sea Route to the Asia-Pacific region is foreseen in summer. In winter it is planned on the western route with transshipment on the regasification terminal in the port Zeebrugge, Belgium. The port of Sabetta together with the project "The Northern Latitudinal Railway" being fulfilled on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will open the way to new markets of industry of Ural Region and Siberia and will provide optimal solving of the problem of transport logistics. As the head of the region Dmitriy Kobylkin underlines, the sea port is scrutinized as not just a mono-port. The Sabetta can be used as a multifunctional terminal opening the gates of the Northern Sea Route to Asia, Europe and America for all territories of Russia and, first of all, for regions of Ural Federal Okrug. At that, export and import takes place on the shortest, economically effective and safe way. For the country these are new opportunities to solve strategic state tasks in the Arctic. Within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum the plenipotentiary envoy of the President of Russia in Ural Federal Okrug Igor Kholmanskikh conducted the conference with heads of regions included to Ural Federal Okrug about development of the port of Sabetta in transport and logistic scheme of Ural Federal Okrug on economic development of the Arctic. Heads of regions included to Ural Federal Okrug participated in it. After detailed discussion of the issue the participants of the meeting came to the unanimous opinion that the port of Sabetta and the Northern Latitudinal Railway are the unique chance for all regions to make a powerful breakthrough in socioeconomic development for wellbeing of all inhabitants of Ural Federal Okrug and the whole country.
