Living standards of pensioners in Yamal are being improved

The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin approved the complex program "Increase of living standards of elderly pensioners on the territory of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in 2014-2018".

It will allow improving situation and living standards of elderly citizens, increasing their social protection and activating their participation in life of the society. Till 2018 the total amount of financing makes more than 18 milliard rubles. Almost 3 milliard and 500 million rubles are foreseen for each year of the program. By the information given to IA "Sever-Press" in the press-service of the governor of Yamal, living standards of elderly people of Yamal depend not only on the size of different measures of social support but also on level and quality of rendered services on social and medical servicing, accessibility of services in the sphere of culture, sport and education. More than 121 thousand pensioners live in Yamal – almost one fifth part of population of the region. Today elderly people in all towns and districts of the region can receive social services at home. Those, who need permanent help and special social and medical assistance, are registered in a stationary center for social servicing in three establishments and one branch counted on 200 places. Departments of day stay and services of urgent social help also work. They render urgent help to people, who got into a difficult life situation. By the data of the federal statistic observation on the first of January of 2013, almost 2000 elderly people of the region received social services, what is on 15 percent more than in 2011. Besides, the regional law "About social families for elderly citizens and disabled people in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug" was adopted in the end of 2012 for creation of optimal conditions of life in familiar domestic surroundings for lonely elderly people. 6 specialized residential houses were built. 313 people received apartments there in October of 2013. All kinds of medical help are accessible for elderly people of Yamal. Activities on physical culture and sport are conducted for them. Associations and clubs also work. Meetings with creative people, excursions and other activities are organized there. Also elderly people study how to use personal computers and the Internet.
