LNG Merak. The name of the second gas carrier for “Yamal LNG”

The Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua held the naming ceremony for the new gas carrier that received the name LNG Merak. The vessel was built by order of the companies MOL and China COSCO Shipping to serve the project “Yamal LNG”. The gas carrier will be involved in transportation of Yamal LNG to final customers from European transshipment terminals, as sudostroenie.info reports.

LNG Merak is the second gas carrier in the series of four conventional vessels ordered in China. Shipbuilders delivered the head tanker - LNG Dubhe to the customer in October last year.
