Medical students of Yamal entered the top three for the first time

The regional stage of the All-Russian competitions in first aid and psychological support “Human factor. Student League” among youth of Ural Federal Okrug took place. According to the results of the competitions, the team of medical volunteers “YAMAL-SPAS” of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug took the third place. It happened for the first time in the years of participation of students from Yamal. The gap between the second and the third place was minimal, just three points. The leader of the team, the head of the Salekhard headquarters of the volunteer action “We are together” Lada Perevalova gave this information to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press”.

The team “YAMAL-SPAS” that together with Lada included students of Yamal Multidisciplinary College Alyona Panfilova and Nikolay Ufimtsev successfully completed three tasks of the regional stage: they passed the test, demonstrated their knowledge in practice and trained ones, who wanted to help the injured.

The test traditionally consisted of questions aimed at evaluation of theoretical knowledge of first aid and psychological support. To complete the practical task the participants prepared videos demonstrating skills of first aid and psychological support for two injured people with urgent conditions: a head wound and a closed fracture of the lower limb. The video with the third task included teaching of population to first aid techniques for emergencies and acute stressful situations.

According to the results of the competitions, the first place was taken by the team “DreamTeam” of Yugra State University, the second place - “SOMK” Sverdlovsk regional medical college, and the third place was taken by the team “YAMAL-SPAS” of Yamal Multidisciplinary College. Lada notes that preparation for the competition lasted about a week in the distance format. The teachers Olga Kalugina, Irina Knysh and Svetlana Kurayeva from Yamal Multidisciplinary College helped the participants.
