More than a thousand observers will follow the voting process in Yamal

The Public Chamber of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug completed forming the group of observers, who will work at the All-Russian voting on amendments to the Basic Law. Since 24th of March to the 15th of June more than 2000 applications were submitted from citizens, who permanently reside on the territory of the region and preliminary expressed the wish to work within the voting as observers. For today the list of observers includes 1100 people. The precise number will be known by the 25th of June. It is planned that 5-6 public observers will work on one voting station. The information was given on the 16th of June by the chairperson of the Public Chamber of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Zayakin within the briefing in the press-center of the news agency “Sever-Press”.

Now the observers are passing through the distance education. Representatives of the Public Chamber of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and representatives of territorial election commissions are working as coaches. In particular, the public observers should study two “golden standards”: the first regulates the order of actions till the unified day of the voting, the second touch upon following everything taking place on a voting station on the 1st of July. Also each observer should understand and follow observance of recommendations from the Central Electoral Commission and Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare).

“We target all observers on interaction with the regional public headquarters. The “helpline” on the basis of the Public Chamber will continue operating till the 2nd of July. If some information on possible violations on voting stations is received, it will be immediately processed by mobile groups that have been made in key municipalities and at the level of the region”, as Dmitry Zayakin informs.

The distinguishing feature of organizing of public observation during this campaign is the following: only representatives of the Public Chamber – regional and federal – will work on voting stations.

According to the representative of the Public Chamber of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, of the regional branch of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Vasiliy Ryabikov, within the voting process representatives of the organization, professional lawyers will follow will expression of northerners. In addition to work on voting stations, the legal experts are ready to help with legal interpretation of the text of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Vasiliy Ryabikov says that he studied the suggested amendments in details, the document is large, and there is a possibility that citizens will have some questions.

As it should be noted, representatives of the Public Chamber of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, four regional branches of the political parties – “Yedinaya Rossiya” (United Russia), the LDPR (Liberal Democratic Party of Russia), “Spravedlivaya Rossiya” (Fair Russia) and “Kazachya Partiya” (Cossacks Party) expressed the initiative to follow the voting process. In addition, representatives of 31 regional non-profit organizations and civil activists will follow the voting process.
