“Nadym” is going to Sabetta. It will work with “Yuribey” the whole year round

The icebreaker towboat “Nadym” built under the order of Atomflot for “Yamal LNG” within the project “Portoflot” will start its work in Sabetta in early July. The state flag on the towboat was hoisted in Murmansk, from where it went to the port of Sabetta. According to the first deputy director and the chief engineer of Atomflot Mustafa Kashka, the trip takes four-five days.

The towboat “Nadym” has Arc6 ice class and is able to work in the Gulf of Ob the whole year round. The capacity is 6.4 megawatt. The open water speed makes 13.5 knots. The maximum draught makes 6.71 meters, the length - 36 meters, the width - 13 meters. The crew includes 10 people. The vessel was built on the enterprise “KRANSHIP” in Temryuk. Mustafa Kashka adds that the project “Portoflot” will be completed with construction of the port icebreaker “Ob”. According to Interfax, this ship was launched to water at Vyborg Shipyard; Atomflot plans to receive it in May of 2019. In total five vessels will be built for “Yamal LNG” on the project “Portoflot”: two towboats Arc4 “Pur” and “Tambey” purposed for seasonal kinds of work were handed over to Atomflot in May and June of 2016, two towboats Arc6 for year-round work, one of which is “Yuribey”, were handed over to Atomflot in November 2017, and the port icebreaker. All the ships are built at Russian shipyards. The cost of the project is about 205 million and 510 thousand dollars. In November 2014 Atomflot signed the comprehensive contract for providing of icebreaker support of ships and servicing of water area of the port of Sabetta for the project “Yamal LNG” till the 31st of December of 2040. The project “Yamal LNG” provides construction of the LNG plant with the capacity of 16 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year on resource base of the South-Tambey field. Fulfillment of the project includes creation of transport infrastructure, the seaport and the airport near the village of Sabetta. The first stage of “Yamal LNG” was started up in the end of 2017.
