New musical instruments will be purchased for the children’s school of art in Salekhard
The children’s school of art in the town Salekhard will receive new sound and music equipment. The regional targeted subsidy for this purpose was allocated on the initiative of the governor of Yamal Dmitry Artyukhov after his visit to the institution this February.
“It is very important that children learn to play high-quality musical instruments, in order from the first days of their creative path they would be surrounded with everything that will allow them to discover and develop their talent. The school’s management requested to purchase new instruments for the department of wind instruments, which has been operating since 2013. By the end of the year a set of 21 musical instruments will be available”, said Aleksey Titovskiy, the head of Salekhard.
Flutes, trombones, trumpets, French horns, timpani and marimba of domestic and European production will be purchased for the department of wind instruments. In addition, the subsidy will allow purchasing five pianos, as the press service of the administration of Salekhard reports. Outdated sound equipment in the hall, where concerts are held, will be replaced.
The children’s school of art was established in Salekhard in 1956. The institution acquired its modern look in 2007. Now the school teaches children on five programs: choreographic, artistic and music directions, aesthetic development and theatric arts. 800 students from 2 to 18 years old and also grownups visit the school. There is the only children’s symphony orchestra in the region. The school was named after the People’s Artist of the USSR, the winner of the State Prize Elena Obraztsova, who had opened the new building. The name of the great singer was given to the school of art in Salekhard in 2015.
