Novoportovskoye and Messoyakhskoye fields will help to increase oil production in the Arctic

This year “Gazprom Neft” plans to extract about 14 million and 500 thousand tonnes of oil in three arctic fields. This information was given by the first deputy director general of the company Vadim Yakovlev.

As he notes, in the Arctic the company fulfills three major projects: development of Novoportovskoye, Messoyakha and Prirazlomnoye fields. This year the company will reach in total about 14 million and 500 thousand tonnes in these fields, in the future it plans to increase extraction up to more than 20 million tonnes. In particular, extraction in Novoportovskoye field, where shipment began in 2016, should make about 7 million tonnes in 2018 and about 8 million tonnes in 2019, as the Agency of oil and gas information reports. “And we plan not to stop on this result. We are expanding our resource base”, as Vadim Yakovlev said. “Gazprom Neft” received several additional license areas in the arctic region, including Yuzhno-Novoportovsky. All of them are at the stage of geological study. On all these areas the company will fulfill comprehensive work on geological exploration. “We hope to increase our resource base on oil and gas reserves”, as Vadim Yakovlev said in the conclusion.
