Online preparation for “Agro-Startup”. Farmers of Yamal are working on business ideas

Acceptance of applications for participation in the contest for grants “Agro-Startup” will be started on the 12th of May in the regional department of agro-industrial complex of Yamal. It is being held within the national project “Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative”.

The start of the contest was postponed for a month because of the high-alert mode in the region. Therefore, potential participants had additional time to prepare and develop their business ideas. The regional center for competences in the sphere of agricultural cooperation and support for farmers has already been communicated with more than 40 beginning agro-entrepreneurs of Yamal. There are projects of various directions, mainly in the sphere of plant growing, fish farming, reindeer husbandry, dairy and meat farming.

Specialists of the center work with grant applicants in the distance mode, by phone and video communication. There are a lot of questions, such as how to make a business plan correctly, whether it is possible to apply for participation in the contest if a farm is not registered officially yet, what kind of reports should be submitted in case of winning the grant.

“It is possible to feel at once when the goal of the participants is not just to receive a grant, but to create a really working enterprise, to organize working places and to be busy with production of popular products. It is very interesting to work with such projects. And already now we understand that competition in the contest will be high”, said the head of the regional center for competences in the sphere of agricultural cooperation and support for farmers Olga Shcherbina.

As it should be noted, “Agro-Startups” will be granted for the second time. This year five grants are provided for newly established farms and citizens, who have decided to start their own business in agriculture. The sums are from 3 to 6 million rubles, depending on the goals. It is possible to use the grant funds to purchase property, machinery, equipment and land.
