Performers of Yamal will share secrets of their skills

Performers from the Cultural and Business Center of Salekhard are organizing lessons about culture and traditions of peoples of the North. They will be held by Nadezhda Serotetto, Ekaterina Salinder, Valentin Valgamov, as well as the Governor’s ensembles of ethnic song and dance “Seetey Yamal” and “Syra-Sev”.

The lesson on the topic “A song as a source for study of culture of peoples in Yamal” will acquaint students and Internet users with musical culture of indigenous peoples living in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The performers will tell about the variety of northern songs: ritual, wedding, funeral, household and round dance. They will show various ways of vocal performance of Nenets, Khanty and Selkoup peoples, as well as their similarities and differences with songs of other peoples of Russia.

At the lesson “Originality of traditional dance of indigenous peoples” young residents of Yamal will be acquainted with dances of peoples of the North. A choreographer Lyubov Subbotina and a performer Valentin Valgamov will open the entire coloring of traditional dance of northern peoples and share secrets of their performance.

According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” in the regional department of culture, the educational interdepartmental project “Culture of peoples of Yamal” is fulfilled by state cultural institutions to acquaint students with culture and traditions of peoples of Yamal.
