Pictures from life of indigenous northerners aroused special interest of German public

The photo exhibition “About Yamal with love” by Sergey Cherkashin is acquainting residents and guests of Dusseldorf with the arctic region, its unique nature, people, enterprises of fuel and energy complex, northern towns and settlements.

The photo exhibition was opened in the educational center “Alpha”. It was initiated by the chairman of the Russian-German friendship society “Yamal-Dusseldorf”, the head of the public organization of compatriots “Acceptance, Trust, Prospect” (Akzeptanz, Vertrauen, Perspektive) Sergey Aruin. The opening was attended by the attache of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Bonn Anton Moiseikin, a representative of the city council from the Christian Democrats Andre Simon, the deputy chairman of the city integration council of Dusseldorf Vyacheslav Lisin, Russian compatriots living in Germany, as it is reported in the department of external relations of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

“A photograph is a frozen moment of life, and a photographer is a chronicler. Yamal has been in my lens for 25 years. Many events and people were filmed during the years. Over time many photos become valuable historical facts”, Sergey Cherkashin said, presenting his works.

In total, the exhibition is presenting 18 photos. Pictures from life of indigenous northerners aroused special interest of German public.

It should be added that in 2017 within the Days of Yamal in Dusseldorf photo works by Sergey Cherkashin were presented during the presentation of creative works by art representatives of Yamal.
