Publication of the best books by authors from Yamal is sponsored from the budget

The department of internal policy of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug announced the start of accepting of applications for publication of the best books written by local authors. The applications are accepted from the 1st of February to the 1st of September, 2020. After consideration and evaluation the best books will be selected for printing and will be published at the expense of the regional budget. The decision on what books will be published is made by the regional editorial and publishing commission that includes representatives of the sphere of culture, science and the public. The commission is headed by the Vice-Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Irina Sokolova.

Book publishing is an important area of support for Yamal literature. Works by Yamal authors with high historical, scientific and artistic significance are published every year within activity of the editorial and publishing commission of the region.

Since 2016 the region has published about 40 books by local writers, poets and regional historians. Among them there are works by recognized Yamal authors, winners of the literary award of the Governor: Anna Nerkagi, Lyudmila Lipatova, Lyudmila Yefremova, Nina Parfyonova, Yevgeniy Lebedev, Nikolay Shamsutdinov, Vadim Gritsenko.

In 2020 the editorial and publishing commission is planning to publish 10 books, including works by Zinaida Longortova, Eldar Akhadov, Yelena Pushkaryova, Vera Smilingene and others.
