Reconstruction in the sea checkpoint of Sabetta took place successfully
The interdepartmental commission held the sitting to inspect compliance of the sea checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation “Sabetta” with requirements for construction, reconstruction, equipment and technological infrastructure of buildings, premises and structures necessary to organize border, customs and other types of control. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of transport of Russia, the Murmansk branch of Rosgranstroy (Federal state institution “Directorate for construction and operation of objects of the state border of the Russian Federation”) and state control bodies.
Work on reconstruction of the checkpoint in the seaport of Sabetta within the second phase of the third stage was started in 2016 at the expense of the subject of transport infrastructure “Yamal LNG”. Within the project the administrative and household complex was built with necessary premises for border and customs officers, employees of Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) and Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being). Previously, these services were located in separate premises and were dispersed throughout the territory. Also reconstruction work allowed increasing the water area of the checkpoint: it included the first and the second technological berths for shipment of liquefied natural gas to sea vessels.
As a result of the work, the interdepartmental commission recognizes that the checkpoint of Sabetta, where reconstruction was carried out, meets all the necessary requirements. The checkpoint will be opened after publication and entry into force of the order of the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation, as it is reported on the website of “Rosgranstroy”.
“Commissioning of the object of transport infrastructure will increase the capacity of the Sabetta sea checkpoint on 30%: up to 300 sea ships and up to 17 million 850 thousand tonnes of cargoes per year”, as specialists of the Murmansk branch of “Rosgranstroy” note.
The feature of the unique seaport of Sabetta is in connection of two transport lines: the railroad line (under the project of the Northern Latitudinal Railway) and the Northern Sea Route. The convenient location and wide opportunities allow this port to become a multifunctional complex servicing 30 million tonnes of cargoes per year. The new terminal Sabetta will meet export needs of all nearby regions and assist to rapid development of new markets for industry of the Ural Region and Siberia, providing them with access to the most important transport arteries.
