Representatives of Yamal became the winners of the All-Russian festival “RoboFest”

Representatives of Yamal were included to the number of the winners of the 8th robotics festival “RoboFest”, which took place in Moscow. Yamal was represented by pupils of the center “Rovesnik” (Coeval) from the town Noyabrsk. They participated in 6 nominations.

Alexander Matchin and Semyon Maymulin from the team “Coeval”, Artur Gumerov and Yevgeniy Ushakov from the team “Coeval 2” in the nomination “FirstLegoLeague” fulfilled tasks on constructing and programming of robots on the theme of the season “Think about waste”. The team “Coeval” presented the project “Universal cleaner of water reservoirs”. The team dreams to become the first to clean Khanto Lake. The second team defended the project “Mobile garbage sorter” purposed for big town landfills. The robot collects, sorts, crushes and separates garbage into four groups: metal, paper, plastic and glass. After filling of containers the sorter takes the garbage to a waste treatment facility. By the results of the performances the team “Coeval 2” became the winner in the nomination “The most constructive embodiment”. For the first time the pupils of the center “Rovesnik” participated in the nomination “JuniorFirstLegoLeague”. Kirill Pokosov and Vladimir Kornelyuk of the team “Umniki” (Smart children) designed the project “Clever garbage basket” for primary recycling of paper waste. Their work was included into 10 acting models being embodied to life. “Umniki” received the diploma of the winner in the nomination “Inquiring minds”. On the All-Russian festival the representatives of Yamal were astonished with the big number of robots of various constructions. They showed their potential and opened much new for themselves, got acquainted with young robotics technicians from other towns and countries, shared their experience. The talented pupils from Noyabrsk already make plans for the next year in order again to participate in the robotics festival, as the department of youth policy and tourism of Yamal informs. This year the record number of participants arrived to “RoboFest” – more than 3500 schoolchildren and students from 69 regions of Russia and also from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan within 1000 teams. For the first time the competitions were conducted on 27 disciplines. The winners in some of them will represent Russia on the international robotics competitions in the USA, Europe and the South-East Asia. The festival is a key event of the program “Robotics: engineering and technical personnel of innovative Russia” of Volnoe Delo Foundation. Since 2008 about 30 its participants have become students of technical higher education institutions and study on engineering specializations.
