Representatives of Yamal presented patriotic projects on the world youth forum in Bulgaria

The second world youth forum of Russian compatriots “Historical Memory: Connection of Generation” was completed in the capital of Bulgaria. The forum is a successor of the international youth forum “Youth builds the future”.

Representatives of Yamal have participated in it since 2010. This year was not an exception. In a sign of respect to long-term cooperation between the coordination council of Russian compatriots in Bulgaria and Yamal the guests of the forum received greetings from the head of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin. “I consider this international project in Sofia the worthy contribution to strengthening of spiritual and humanitarian ties with compatriots, to development of fruitful cooperation on preservation of historical truth about the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War”, as the head of the arctic region says. According to the information given to a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press” by the press secretary of the regional department of international and external economic relations Maria Yamokhina, following the main theme of the forum, the representatives of Yamal acquainted the participants with the international civil-patriotic project “Our History - Our Victory!”, told about participation of representatives of Yamal in the Russian search movement, memorial work aimed at support of historical memory about military and labor heroic deeds in the time of the Great Patriotic War. A separate part of the speech was dedicated to the regional civil-patriotic project “Kara Sea expeditions”, which is called to immortalize the memory of participants of the convoy “White Sea – Dikson-5” killed by a German submarine in the Kara Sea on the 12th of August, 1944. Searchers from Yamal are ready to accept compatriots into regional search teams for participation in the action “Yamal. The Memory Watch 2017”. The master-class on making copies of the Victory Banner within the international action “The Victory Banner: Yamal to compatriots!” became a practical part of the presentation of Yamal. The representatives of Yamal together with the forum participants created a replica of the flag of the 150th infantry division that had been hoisted by soldiers of the Soviet army on the first of May, 1945 on the roof of the Reichstag building in Berlin. After the event the representatives of countries, who wished to join the international action “The Victory Banner: Yamal to compatriots”, received envelopes with postcards being a kind of an application for participation in the action. Now Yamal will be waiting for envelopes from different countries signed in languages of different nations, in order in response to the desire of the foreign Russian world to join the action for preservation of the memory about the combat brotherhood of peoples in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, to make and to send a copy of the Victory Banner to Russian compatriots. On the plenary session “Historical memory - the basis of national identity and continuity of generations” a representative of Yamal Nikolay Atamanov made a report on patriotic education in the region and international youth projects for next year. Compatriots are invited to participate in them. The program of the forum continued its work in sections. The participants discussed such topical issues as historical memory and counteraction against attempts to distort history, also issues of strengthening of ties between compatriots and their historical Homeland, a role of media of compatriots in distribution of historical truth and others. According to the results of the forum, the participants adopted the resolution outlining strategic priorities in work of organizations of compatriots abroad and their interaction with Russia. As we should note, more than 200 representatives from 67 countries from 18 to 35 years and chairpersons of coordination councils of compatriots, members of regional coordination councils and the global coordination council participated in the world youth forum.
