Residents of Yamal will vote both at voting stations and at home
The All-Russian voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation will be started on the 25th of June. Precinct election commissions are ready to receive voters. It was announced on the 23rd of June by the chairman of the regional election commission Andrey Gibert at the briefing in the press center of the news agency “Sever-Press”.
Residents of Yamal actively choose alternative ways of voting that are inherent to the voting process this year: 8 voting stations will be organized on house territories in Noyabrsk, one - in Aksarka, Priuralskiy district; 77 thousand voters are planning to express their opinion without leaving home. For convenience of citizens 4 outdoor sites will be organized in Nadymskiy district, one each in Salekhard and Noviy Urengoy. Andrey Gibert notes that, according to the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor, 100% of the voting stations should be placed outdoors. But it is difficult to implement in conditions of the Far North, as structures can be blown away with wind. Therefore, voting stations traditionally will be placed inside buildings, and security measures will be strengthened considerably: incoming and outgoing flows of voters will be divided from each other, areas of voting stations will be disinfected, it is planned to take no more than 8-12 citizens per hour. And for minimization of contacts the procedure itself will be conducted not during one day, but from the 25th of June to the 1st of July.
The procedure for the early voting in remote populated areas and hard-to-reach localities of Yamal is fully completed in Shuryshkarskiy district, the settlement Pelvozh, which belongs to Salekhard, and Vyngapurovskiy, which belongs to Noyabrsk. During the remaining seven days representatives of precinct election commissions will have to reach half of the number of residents in remote settlements in Nadymskiy district. 45% of residents of Purovsky district and 22% of residents of Yamalskiy district will express their will on the amendments.
On the 21st of June election commissions accepted last applications for voting at a place of stay. 27 thousands of residents will vote on vacation outside the region. 9 thousand guests of Yamal will come to voting stations on the voting days.
More than 500 volunteers will help representatives of commissions and voters at voting stations. Their task is to issue personal protective equipment and fulfill thermometry. 1100 representatives of the public and political parties will observe the process. All the voting participants – representatives of commissions, volunteers, observers and representatives of mass media - are passing a coronavirus test beforehand and are allowed to attend voting stations only if there is no disease. Andrey Gibert notes that the voting will be held safely, in compliance with all the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare).
