Rosneft is making the unique software complex for geological modeling

Specialists of LLC RN-UfaNIPIneft (a part of the scientific and design complex of Rosneft Oil Company) developed a prototype of the software complex for geological modeling “RN-Geosim”, which uses advanced information technologies of artificial intelligence.

Experimental-industrial operation of the prototype proved high efficiency of use of “RN-Geosim” in extractive fields of the company. In difference from foreign analogues the complex under development allows, in particular, fulfilling construction of geological models of various extractive fields in the automated mode. The first version of the product will allow modeling at least 80 percent of extractive fields of Rosneft, and in the future, with development of the complex, processes of modeling will be transferred to “RN-Geosim” completely. Creation of own line of software in the sphere of modeling and designing of processes of exploration, development and construction in extractive fields will allow reducing the company’s dependence on foreign software products and improving efficiency of production processes. A multimillion economic effect from import substitution is being expected, as the board of information policy of Rosneft Oil Company informs. This experience is unique among companies of oil and gas complex of the Russian Federation. LLC RN-UfaNIPIneft is a research and design institute of the corporate research and design complex of Rosneft Oil Company. It has powerful resource base and big scientific and technical potential aimed at solving of both strategic and tactical tasks of the company.
