Russian ambassadors abroad were impressed by the scale of “Yamal-LNG”: they nurtured the sense of pride for the country

After the visit to Sabetta the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People’s Republic of China Andrey Denisov notes that the project “Yamal-LNG” is one of the brightest examples of mutually beneficial and successful international cooperation. According to his observations, economic basis of wide range of Russian-Chinese relations is being strengthened. The ambassador highlighted one current trend having direct relation to the working trip - investment cooperation.

Thus, in its interaction with China, Russia is moving from trade in goods to trade in investment projects, which occupy the significant place in economic cooperation. This is long-term, large-scale collaboration and deep cooperation. Andrey Denisov called the project “Yamal-LNG” a bright example of this. The Chinese side is a shareholder of the project almost on one third. The total share of the Chinese companies in the project makes 29.9 percent. “Everything we saw in Sabetta far exceeds our expectations”, Andrey Denisov said. “I shall express the opinion of all my colleagues being here: abroad we want that the sense of pride for our country would be nurtured by real facts. Everything we saw is a powerful stimulus to work for the benefit of Russia’s interests, as our country can fulfill such projects, because there are no such things anywhere in the world. China knows this project well, and I also participated in various kinds of discussions and negotiations concerning it. I know quite a lot about it. But what I saw with my own eyes exceeded my expectations many times. The scale of what was done and the highest quality of it are impressive”.
