Salekhard and Rovaniemi will sign the memorandum about mutual understanding

Salekhard and Rovaniemi (province Lapland, the Republic of Finland) intend to sign the memorandum about mutual understanding.

Establishment of twinning relationship between the towns, development of cooperation in the social, scientific, tourist and other spheres will become the result of signing. Now the delegation of Yamal is in Rovaniemi, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs. Yamal is being represented by employees of the administration of the town Salekhard and the department of international and external economic relations of the region. The representatives of Yamal will visit the medical health-improving center of the town and the plant on processing of reindeer pelts. Also it is planned to meet with the director of the company "Polarica OY", which is an importer of venison from Yamal to Finland. Cooperation of Yamal with the Republic of Finland is actively developed on several directions. Agro-industrial complex, tourism, culture and education are basic. In April of last year businesspeople from Yamal visited Finland. The business mission was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug by the order of the regional department on science and innovations. The contracts about cooperation were concluded between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Finland Chamber of Commerce, the Lapland Chamber of Commerce and the International investment company "Maxtrade Ltd by the results of the visit.
