Schoolchildren and students of Yamal will participate in the Olympiad on regional ethnography and native languages

The department of education of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug announced about the beginning of the interregional stage of the Olympiad on regional ethnography and native languages. Schoolchildren and students from Yamal, Taymyr, Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (Yugra) will participate in it.

According to the information given to a correspondent of IA "Sever-Press" by the chief of the office on regional development at the department of education of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Grigory Lymar, the Olympiad is being conducted on two nominations "Regional ethnography" and "Native languages". The interregional stage will last till the 22nd of November. Special tasks were elaborated for it. The participants send answers to them together with an application for participation by electronic mail. As Grigory Lymar notes, the Olympiad helps to find and support gifted schoolchildren, to create conditions for study, preservation, protection and advancement of languages of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North.
