Scientific researches will start on Beliy Island in summer

Two specialists, who will be busy with scientific researches, will live and work on Beliy Island in summer. Such agreement was reached with the institute of the Arctic and Antarctic.

This information was given to journalists by a deputy governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Alexander Mazharov. As he notes, negotiations about work of the specialists on ecology and bio-fauna on the island were conducted with Tyumen State University. The winter ecological expedition on the island was completed. The scientific stationary center, comfortable for life of specialists and scientists, was organized; dismantling of last old ramshackle constructions was completed. Big work was conducted during the latest time, as he notes, and it is possible to say with confidence that the region copes with the task. Documents for registration of the center for exploration of the Arctic are given to the Ministry for justice. Scientific researches will be among functions of the center. Yamal stays the only territory of the Russian Federation, which conducts such full-scale project, as he underlines. Alexander Mazharov says that all funds, which are spent for ecological cleaning of the island and creation of the stationary scientific center, are given by partners of the project; budgetary funds are not spent for this work. Among the partners there are: the group of companies of Tyumen Oblast, volunteers of which plan to work on Beliy Island in August. Participation of the governors of Yamal and Tyumen Oblast Dmitriy Kobylkin and Vladimir Yakushev is foreseen in this project.
