Scientists of Yamal played roles in the film in Khanty language about the war

Creation of the first film in cinematography of Yamal in Khanty language took place in Priuralskiy district.

The working title is “Khon Yush. The path from the Ob River”. The famous woman-writer of Yamal Zinaida Longortova is its author and director. The film will be dedicated to participation of indigenous peoples of Yamal in the Great Patriotic War. All the actors are not professional. Among them there is a junior researcher of the scientific center for study of the Arctic Lyubov Vozelova, who plays the role of a driver of an argish (“argish” means “deer caravan”), and a doctor of philological sciences, the head researcher, the chief of the sector of social and humanitarian researches of the scientific center for study of the Arctic Natalia Tsymbalistenko, who plays the role of a Russian exiled woman. In a conversation with a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press” Natalia Tsymbalistenko opened one of storylines of the film. As he tells, indigenous peoples took children of exiled people of all nationalities for upbringing. In one of scenes she secretly brings milk found with great efforts to a child adopted by a Khanty family. Zinaida Longortova plays a mother. According to the storyline of the film, Natalia does different hard work during the whole day. They live in a choum (a nomadic dwelling, similar to a tepee). Everything takes place in 1941-1945, and events start in 1934-1935. The first part of the film is not made yet. As Zinaida Longortova informs, some details of the film were made in Shuryshkarskiy district, military scenes were filmed in Belarus. The action of the film takes place on the home front, in Shuryshkarskiy district, and also on the battle front. Real events were laid into in the basis of the film. The Khartaganovs family is in the center of the storyline. In hard and hungry time they brought up 7 children of different ages and nationalities. The author decided to make the character of the main hero-warrior as generalized, “speaking for all Khanty people”. Population of Shuryshkarskiy district suffered greatly during the war, as Zinaida Longortova says. For example, twenty-three men went to the battle front from the village Khoshgort, only one came back. Few people know how skilled and reliable Khanty warriors were. Commanding officers even turned a blind eye to the fact that into battles they took figurines of sacred idols with them and sewed shoulder straps onto a malitsa (national clothes of fur for men). Labor heroic deeds of northerners were not fully studied and presented. Transports full of fish and furs as currency for purchase of military equipment were sent to “the big land” by the road laid in the time of Ivan the Terrible. The film is also called to familiarize the audience with history and ethnography of the Far North. It is being made in Khanty language, and dubbing will be made in Russian, English and German. Six men from the family of Zinaida Longortova fought on the battle fronts of the Great Patriotic War.
