Scientists will permanently live in Russian Arctic National Park

The point for year-round accommodation of scientists will be opened in Russian Arctic National Park.

The system of supporting points equipped with audio and video communication with Archangelsk already exists on Novaya Zemlya and Franz Joseph Land. The new point will also be created in Alexandra Land (the archipelago Franz Joseph Land). Building will be conducted under the control of the polar committee at the council on maritime activity at the governor of Archangelsk Oblast. Complex infrastructure on the territory of the park will provide the opportunity of residence, rendering of emergency help, control over observation of nature-protecting legislation and also conducting of scientific and educational activity on archipelagoes in the European region of the Russian Arctic zone.
