Sergey Yamkin is participating in the conference “International cooperation in the Arctic”

The Speaker of the regional parliament Sergey Yamkin is representing Yamal on the conference “International Cooperation in the Arctic: New Challenges and Vectors of Development”, which was opened in Moscow on the 12th of October.

The conference will take place during 2 days. The Russian International Affairs Council at support of the Ministry for foreign affairs of Russia is its organizer. The event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Arctic Council and is being fulfilled within the project on in-depth study of international aspects of cooperation in the Arctic region. Heads of specialized ministries and departments, diplomats, representatives of large business, leading experts of countries of the Arctic Council are participating in the discussion. According to the information given to IA “Sever-Press” in the press-service of the regional parliament, the participants intend to outline prospects of institutional development of the Arctic Council and legal regulation of economic activity in the Arctic, to define potential of economic projects on the territory and potential of cooperation with other regions. Special expert sessions dedicated to detailed discussion of issues of international interaction in the Arctic on different directions are taking place within the conference.
