"Severneftegazprom" started additional prospecting of the Lower Cretaceous formations in Yuzhno-Russkoye field

The company "Severneftegazprom" started building of a new exploratory well within fulfillment of the project on additional prospecting of Yuzhno-Russkoye field in Krasnoselkoup district of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

As it is informed in office on relations with bodies of the power and public relations of the company, the well will allow additionally studying gas, oil and gas condensate deposits discovered in the Lower Cretaceous formations of the central part of the field. The expected increase of extractable reserves of hydrocarbons on category C1, by the results of layer testing, will make more than 8 million ton of standard fuel. In total from 2014 to 2017 in Yuzhno-Russkoye field it is planned to complete building of 8 exploratory wells with the total drilling progress more than 17 thousand meters. By the words of the director general of the company Stanislav Tsygankov, it is planned to start experimental industrial development of the Lower Cretaceous formations not later than 2020. Hydrocarbon extraction will start after fulfillment of work on calculation of reserves, designing of field development and field infrastructure development. Oil and gas formations consisting of methane, ethane, propane and butane and heavier fractions called gas condensate are situated in the Lower Cretaceous formations of Yuzhno-Russkoye field in depths, which do not exceed 2 thousand meters.
