Since 2021 the company “Vodokhod” will start transporting tourists on the Northern Sea Route

In 2021 the company “Vodokhod” starts organizing cruises on the Northern Sea Route, and then – to the Antarctic. The information was given on the All-Russian conference dedicated to the 200th anniversary of discovery of the Antarctic by a representative of the company Igor Yasinsky.

“As for 2021, the company plans cruises on the Northern Sea Route and cruises around Franz Josef Land on board of the icebreaker “Kapitan Khlebnikov”, it is planned for summer. Then the ship will be transported to Antarctica, and, starting from 2022, two new expedition vessels with the capacity 150 people will be added to it. The ships are being built now at a shipyard in Finland”, Igor Yasinsky said.

At the moment, approval of the icebreaker lease is in the final stage, and cruises are being prepared, as TASS reports. The duration of voyages will be from 7 to 17 days. The issue on use of light helicopters is being worked out in order to make the program of tours more interesting.
