Startup of the plant “Yamal LNG” in full capacity will increase a share of Russia on the world market

Owing to startup of the plant “Yamal LNG” in full capacity Russia will take eight-nine percent of the world market of liquefied natural gas.

The Minister for energy of Russia Alexander Novak told about it on the sitting of the collegium of the Ministry for energy. Startup of the project “Yamal LNG” in full capacity in the future will allow increasing the amount of Russian gas exports more than on ten percent and increasing a share of Russia on the global LNG market up to eight or nine percent, as the minister says. As he reminds, the first line of the plant “Yamal LNG” will be started up this year on the Yamal Peninsula, as RIA “Novosti” informs. According to the information given earlier by the head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson, the plant will come to full capacity in 2019. The project “Yamal LNG” with the total capacity in 16 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year is fulfilled on the resource base of the South-Tambey field. The shareholders are: NOVATEK - 50.1%, Total and CNPC – 20% each, the Silk Road Fund - 9.9%.
