Summer nomadic schools will be opened in tundra this summer

Summer playgrounds will be organized in Nyda tundra on locations of nomadic camps of reindeer herding brigades for the first time. This work will be fulfilled within the project "Nomadic school – kindergarten: the ABC of a tundra child". 11 children of preschool age live in the brigades together with their parents.

By the information given to IA "Sever-Press" in the department of education of Nadym district, children received presents – bright little school backpacks of tundra children with educational aids, in order they would be able to develop their thinking and creative abilities, to learn the bases of literacy. The school backpacks contain playing and educational aids, sets for creation of decorations of beads, bright plasticine and albums for drawing and painting, books for reading in Russian and Nenets languages. The director of the boarding school of the settlement Nyda Ivan Malinin met with parents of the preschool pupils and acquainted them with programs and preschool training of children. Senior schoolgirls of the boarding school will work with the children in the brigades. They received certificates about education in the school of young leaders. Each of them presented and defended the project on the theme "Our camp". This year the first seasonal nomadic school will be opened in Yuribey tundra, as the Studio Fact informs. It is planned that the youngest pupils will study in it this summer. They will be able to study here without interrupting from traditional way of life. Now almost 200 of 600 children, who study in the boarding school of Gyda, are from families conducting nomadic way of life. In the boarding school of Gyda during a year teachers of primary school wrote programs for the seasonal school to educate children of 5-7 years old. Practically the teachers are ready to introduce nomadic education on several school subjects in Yuribey tundra. By the words of the chief of the district department of education Valery Kutsurov, at the present time nomadic education is organized only for preschool pupils and pupils of primary school. The reason is insufficiency of personnel. For some time this education will be seasonal. Such experience also exists in neighbor districts. Summer schools will be opened on locations, where several choums are set. (The note: a choum is home for northern nomads, reindeer herders; it is similar to a tepee). The results of this work will be seen already in autumn, when children will come back to usual school.
