Surgeons in Salekhard learned how to restore mobility of a knee joint

The new bi-stabilized system for endoprosthesis replacement of the knee joint was introduced in Salekhard in the regional hospital on the basis of the traumatology department.

This operation is done only in the regional capital. According to the information given to a correspondent of the news agency “Sever-Press” in the hospital, deforming osteoarthritis of various etiologies is an indication for replacement of the knee joint. In particular, it is premature aging of hyaline cartilage, consequences after surgery and fractures. A patient’s difficult movements being accompanied with pain, when walking, climbing stairs or down from it, as well as at rest are indications for the operation. According to the specialist of public relations of the hospital Maria Dvoyelozhkova, the bi-stabilized system is used for young and active patients; it restores their physical activity practically completely after endoprosthesis replacement at observance of doctor’s recommendations.
