The antiaircraft missile systems "Triumf" will protect the Russian Arctic

The air defense division of the Northern fleet received new antiaircraft missile systems S-400 Triumf. Soon military men will start mastering the new weapons in conditions of the Far North.

It is planned to locate the antiaircraft missile regiment on the archipelago Novaya Zemlya. In summer military men of the air defense division will conduct weapon training exercises in Astrakhan Oblast, and on their return to the north they will be put on duty on air defense in certain areas of responsibility. This information was given by the chief of the press-service of the Northern Fleet Vadim Serga. Besides, on one of aerodromes of the Sub-Arctic it is planned to locate the missile and antiaircraft artillery weapon system Pantsir-S1, as it is informed on the portal severpost.ru. The S-400 Triumf is a Russian new generation antiaircraft missile system of large and medium range. It is purposed for high-effective protection from impacts of aviation, strategic, winged, tactical and operational-tactical ballistic missiles and also ballistic missiles of medium range in conditions of combat and electronic countermeasures. Each antiaircraft missile system provides simultaneous firing of thirty-six targets with aiming of seventy-two missiles on them.
