The archive of folklore of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North will be made in Yamal

Next year in Yamal it is planned to create "the electronic shell" for the archive of folklore of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North.

This information was given by the director of the department on science and innovations Aleksey Titovskiy on the sitting of the coordinating council on sustainable development of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North.

As he notes, the modern resource will be accessible to those, who are interested in this theme, and to specialized, scientific organizations, museum and archive funds. The electronic catalogue will present scanned materials, annotations, sound and video materials. According to the words of the director of the department, creation of the archive will allow preserving cultural legacy of the region, popularizing traditional culture of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, collecting and processing monuments of folklore. This year employees of the scientific center for exploration of the Arctic conducted several expeditions to districts of the region, collected folkloristic materials, in particular, authorial fairy-tales for their further placing into the archive, as Aleksey Titovskiy notes. Next year this work will be continued. Necessary expenditures are laid in the budget for creation of "the electronic shell". For more effective work in this direction he suggests securing the state function for the department. The role of the archive with consideration of active industrialization of the region will grow only.
