The international scientific and practical conference “Modern technologies of oil and gas geophysics” took place at the Industrial University of Tyumen.

Reports were made by students, postgraduates, professors and teachers of the Institute of geology and oil and gas production, employees of leading enterprises of oil and gas industry. Vladislav Kuznetsov, the deputy director general of NOVATEK Scientific and Technical Center, professor, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences underlined significance of interaction between education, science and industry. According to him, enterprises are interested in order students – future employees would be educated better. At the conference they can find out, what oil companies are interested in, to be aware of what technologies are used now, what waits for production in the future, what else is necessary to do for the branch. Within the conference Vladislav Kuznetsov spoke on the report on seismic exploration in arctic transit zones, as the press service of the University informs. According to Vladislav Kuznetsov, many northern extractive fields go under waters of seas. In terms of an estuary — the Gulf of Ob, the Taz Estuary, the Khalmyer Bay (Gydan), Baydaratskaya Bay, in shallow waters there is the problem to fulfill work with the aim to receive accurate information for forecasting and modeling of a field. This is a difficult topic, extremely complex equipment is used. NOVATEK Scientific and Technical Center conducts such global projects as “Yamal LNG”, and all projects, all gas liquefaction plants are located far beyond the Polar Circle. In the Soviet Union arctic technologies were poorly developed, because then work was conducted on more southern objects. But today the theme of the Arctic is very significant, it is proclaimed at the state level, and NOVATEK Scientific and Technical Center has more advanced experience in this regard than many enterprises of fuel and energy complex. New character of elaborations indicated in the report by Vladislav Kuznetsov is in so, that to study northern regions it is necessary to use the complex technology, including a set of equipment and methodological techniques. This method is innovative. Only terrestrial or only sea seismic surveys should not be used on these areas. It needs to use different types of seismic sources, different equipment - ships, all-terrain vehicles that allow moving in districts of Yamal in summer. In addition, it is necessary to create such system of data collection in order it would be saturated, would allow receiving corresponding material, when land-sea transition is not visible. In addition, it is necessary to consider problems connected with permafrost, because there is permafrost under ground, and there is no it under water, and this leads to very large distortions. The solution of these problems was proposed by Vladislav Kuznetsov in his report.
