The Arctic Cookbook was recognized the best at the international contest in China
The cookbook of peoples of the Russian Arctic “EALLU” was recognized the best cookbook of the year and the winner in the nomination “Arctic cuisine”.
The international contest of cookbooks took place in the People’s Republic of China in the town Yantai. The project of the Arctic council “EALLU” being supervised by the International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry and the Association of World Reindeer Herders won at once in two nominations. One of the authors of the book Marta Okotetto, a student from Saint Petersburg informs that she participates in the project of the Arctic Council “EALLU: Indigenous Youth, Food Knowledge & Arctic Change” during two years. Within it the young people wrote the cookbook “EALLU”, where they presented food culture of Nenets, Sami, Dolgan, Evenk, Evens and many other indigenous peoples of the North. The good luck smiled, and the project became the best. Marta Okotetto is from the settlement Beloyarsk, Priuralskiy district. She studies in Saint Petersburg in the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.
