The Arctic Winter Games will take place without politics. Yamal is sending seventy sportspeople

On the 14th of March sportspeople of Yamal are going to the Arctic Winter Games, which will take place from the 18th to the 24th of March in Canada. This information was given by the director of the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal Alexander Mazharov.

As he says, the travel will be favorable; it is supported by the Ministry for foreign affairs. Russian consulates will work on all stages, where the team of Yamal will participate. The head of the specialized department hopes that living conditions also will assist to the fact that nothing will prevent from successful performance of the sportspeople from Yamal. The team of Yamal includes figure skaters, skiers, biathletes, sportspeople playing table tennis and futsal (mini-football). Both very young sportspeople, for who these are the first international competitions, and experienced athletes, who have several golden medals of the Arctic Winter Games, are going to the competitions. In total there are 70 people. In Canada the delegation of Yamal will be divided in two groups. Snowshoes running, ski biathlon, snowshoes biathlon and futsal will take place in Hay River, and the ski race, the arctic all-around, table tennis and figure skating – in Fort Smith. The sportspeople from the USA, Canada, Greenland, Norway, Finland and Sweden will be their basic opponents. As Alexander Mazharov notes, each sportsperson in the team will compete for awards. The team of Yamal always shows the good results on the Games, winning more than 100 medals, majority of which are golden. In Canada the sportspeople promised considerably to improve the result.
