The author of the book about history of the sea convoy “White Sea – Dikson 5” held the meeting with residents of Noyabrsk
The meeting dedicated to history of the tragic death of the icebreaking ship “Alexander Sibiryakov” in the Kara Sea took place in the museum of military glory named after V.M. Grigor in the town Noyabrsk (https://vk.com/noyabrskmvs).
The head of the project “Kara Sea Expeditions”, an employee of the scientific center for study of the Arctic Sergey Shulinin arrived in Noyabrsk. He presented the book about history of the convoy “White Sea – Dikson 5”, which contains results of long-time work on study of the tragedy, the largest one in number of human losses among sea convoys in the Arctic during the World War Second.
Also Sergey Shulinin read the lecture dedicated to history of the sea convoy, as it is informed by the town administration in the social network “VKontakte”.
As it should be noted, the unique project with use of technology of virtual reality “Yamal: the Edge of the Earth, the beginning of life” was fulfilled in the museum of military glory. It acquaints with history of the heroic deed of the crew of “Alexander Sibiryakov”, which drowned in the Kara Sea on the 25th of August of 1942 during the unequal fight with the German cruiser “Admiral Scheer”.
With help of VR-glasses visitors can learn about history of the sea fight, to see pictures of that tragic day in history of the Great Patriotic War.
