The baby mammoth Lyuba from Yamal is going to the tour around Europe

For the first time the unique paleontological finding the baby mammoth Lyuba will go to London. The exhibition "Mammoths: Giants of the Ice Age" will be opened in the natural history museum on the 23rd of May.

The baby mammoth from Yamal will become the main exhibit there. Employees of the museum-exhibition complex dismantled the showcase and placed the baby mammoth into the special coffer, which protects it from temperature fluctuations. This is the fourth trip of the unique finding to foreign countries. Before this trip the baby mammoth was in Japan, America and Hong-Kong. It is pleasant that Europe will get acquainted to the baby mammoth Lyuba. It was noted by Galina Karzanova, the senior scientific employee of the office of natural science at the museum-exhibition complex of Shemanovskiy. Visitors of the museum in London will learn about Yamal, the museum-exhibition complex of Shemanovskiy and the reindeer herder Yuriy Khudi, who found the baby mammoth seven years ago in tundra of Yamal. The unique paleontological finding the baby mammoth Lyuba will come back to Salekhard in September.
