The center for military training for activities in conditions of the Far North

The principally new center for arctic military training of subdivisions purposed for operations in conditions of the Far North will be created in Russia. This information was given by the Minister for defense, Army General Sergey Shoygu.

Development of the Arctic, both for civil and military purpose, is conducted in conformity with the instruction given by the President, as ITAR-TASS informs. As the minister explains, creation of the center is necessary and touches upon everyone without exclusion: pilots, soldiers of landing troops, sailors, artillerists and everyone, who is busy with complex machinery, which will be delivered during the coming years for service behind the Polar Circle. As he reminds, the beginning of navigation in districts of the Far North is coming. Transportation of big amounts of cargoes, building and development of new territories such as the New Siberian Islands, Franz Joseph Land, Wrangel Island, will be fulfilled soon.
