The championship “Abilympics”. New competences for students and schoolchildren

The IV regional championship of professional skills among disabled people “Abilympics” will take place from the 24th to the 26th of September on platforms of six colleges of Yamal.

According to the regional department of education, this year conditions for competitions in 19 competencies for students and grownups, in 7 competencies - for schoolchildren were created. 116 schoolchildren, students and grownups will participate in the championship. For the first time students and grownups will show their skills in the competencies “adaptive physical culture”, “medical laboratory analysis”, “woodwork”. Schoolchildren will be able to test their skills in the new competencies “adaptive physical culture” and “cleaning”.

The championship program includes professional tests for 200 schoolchildren; the business program includes roundtables, discussion platforms with involvement of enterprises and public organizations of disabled people. The regional roundtable “Vocational education in colleges of Yamal: new opportunities for people with disabilities” will be held on the 25th of September with involvement of studios of all colleges in the region and their branches.

The regional championship will involve 29 volunteers, who were registered on the website of the national center of Abilympics.

As we should remind, the last two years the team of Yamal demonstrates good results in the final of the national championship. Thus, in 2017 the team of Yamal brought two medals. A student of Yamal Multidisciplinary College Maria Rokhtymova won the golden medal in the competence “decorative and applied arts”. A student of the same college Valery Sukharin became the bronze prizewinner in the competence “documentary support of management and archival science”. In 2018 both medals were given to representatives of Yamal in the competence “decorative and applied arts”. A student of Yamal Multidisciplinary College Maria Pyrirko won the golden award, and a school student from the settlement Beloyarsk, Priuralskiy district Maria Serotetto won the bronze medal.
