The container ship “Sevmorput” will deliver cargoes for “Arctic LNG 2”
The nuclear-powered container ship “Sevmorput” of the enterprise Atomflot is going from the Arkhangelsk seaport in the direction of the Gydan Peninsula. On board of the ship there are more than 20 thousand freight tonnes of various general cargoes for the project “Arctic LNG 2”. “The nuclear-powered container ship “Sevmorput” has made its first voyage this year”, said Leonid Irlitsa, the first deputy director general and the director of shipping at Atomflot. – “The planned dock repair of the vessel was successfully completed in Saint Petersburg. The container ship is ready for operation in high latitudes. It will take less than six days to get to the point of unloading”. The ship will deliver products of domestic enterprises to the extractive field “Utrenneye”: reinforced concrete products, pipe products, metal structures, construction equipment and electrical equipment, as the department of communications of Rosatomflot informs. “The route to Utrenneye field is well known to the crew”, said Oleg Markov, the captain of the container ship “Sevmorput”. – “We made two similar voyages last year. For the project “Arctic LNG 2” we will again deliver bulky cargo. The crew of “Sevmorput” provides unloading with use of cranes mounted on the vessel”.
