The documentation for construction of the LNG terminal “Obsky” in Sabetta was approved

GlavGosEkspertiza of Russia (Main Department of State Expertise) reviewed the project documentation and results of engineering surveys for construction of the terminal of liquefied natural gas “Obskiy” in the seaport of Sabetta in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Positive conclusions were issued by the results of the state expert examination. The information was given to the news agency “Sever-Press” in the press service of GlavGosEkspertiza of Russia.

The terminal “Obsky” is intended for transshipment of liquefied natural gas - products of the company NOVATEK - to sea transport. It will be built on the western coast of the Gulf of Ob on the Yamal Peninsula. The project documentation includes three stages of work. During the first stage the existing berths will be reconstructed. During the second stage it is planned to build a technological berth with an overpass structure from the plant of liquefied natural gas and coastal infrastructure. Operations on securing of the bottom in the water area of the technological berth will be fulfilled during the third stage. JSC “GT Morstroy” is the general designer.

It is planned that the cargo turnover of the terminal “Obsky” will be about 5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year. By the results of fulfillment of the project, it will be able to receive at least 65 gas carriers every year.
