The festival "Arctic music fest" took place in the town Nadym. Silent white nights were filled with sounds of classical music, blues and jazz being performed by musicians of the world scale – the Igor Butman Quartet, soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre, Yekaterinburg Chamber Orchestra B-A-C-H "The Soloists of Russia", the titled Belarusian cellist, a student of Paris National Conservatory Ivan Karizna, the violin project "StanisLove".

The Honored Artists of Russia Valery Garkalin and Olga Prokofieva played the theatrical and musical composition dedicated to the most tragic events in history of Russia – the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin welcomed the participants and guests of the festival. By his words, there are not any creative frontiers for the first Arctic musical festival in the open air. Nadym became the first town in Yamal that decided to conduct such brave experiment and made the challenge to unpredictable weather of the Far North. As the acting governor of Tyumen Oblast Vladimir Yakushev underlines, the Arctic enchants with its boundless expanses, enigmas and unexplored character the same way as musical art. He wished the festival for success and obligatory continuation in the future. By the information given to IA "Sever-Press" in the informational and analytical board at the administration of Nadym district, the date of conducting of the festival was chosen not occasionally - the 22nd of June. This year in Russia was announced the Year of culture, in Yamal – the Year of civil unity. The night on the 22nd of June is the shortest in a year, in the Arctic – the whitest night, the Sun does not leave the sky even for a second. It is remarkable that the famous musicians played in the open air, filling the central square with music by Mozart, Schumann, Chopin, Haydn, Schwartz, Vertinsky, Falconieri and other great composers. Valery Garkalin and Olga Prokofieva in their theatrical and musical composition read poems by famous poets. They reminded about love to the native land, about significance of the peaceful sky above. The performance of one of the world leading jazz-bands, the Igor Butman Quartet, aroused big delight of the audience. All the musical compositions aroused the wish to dance, to be happy and to applaud. Igor Butman notes that success depended also on the sound. Acoustics in Nadym is excellent, thus, sounds reflected from the lake, near which the festival took place.
