Today a row of design bureaus and manufacturing plants presented projects of river ships for renovation of the passenger fleet in Yamal.

Such meeting has taken place in the region not for the first time, in more detail designers have studied special conditions of navigation, with which the Arctic waters are known. "The projects are finalized with consideration of our adjustments. Defining of the mechanism of ships purchasing is a separate item of the meeting. The government is considering two variants. Purchase of ships under the program “Cooperation”, as it was in the case with purchase of ships under the project A-145 and construction of the ship “Farman Salmanov”. “We are considering a variant of renovation with help of leasing companies”, as the curator of the branch, the first deputy governor of Yamal Aleksey Sitnikov notes. Several variants of ships of different passenger capacity, configuration and types were presented within the meeting. Both catamaran type ships and usual regular passenger ships were suggested. The designers studied characteristics of the ship “Mekhanik Kalashnikov” working on one of the longest routes in Yamal “Salekhard - Novy Port - Antipayuta”. Combination of the modern approach and proven technologies will allow creating new ships for depths and waves characteristic for waterways of Yamal. It is important to note that each presented project is adapted for low-mobility passengers, safe pick-up and drop-off areas are provided, convenient use of internal infrastructure of ships is considered. Import substitution is important at construction of ships. It needs to eliminate the risks associated with foreign components, as Aleksey Sitnikov notes. In addition, state programs on construction of ships will apply only to projects of domestic shipbuilding.
