The government of Russia allocates money for projects on development of the arctic shelf
Russia takes steps in connection with planning of projects on extraction of oil and gas on the arctic shelf. In particular, within 7 tenders with the total budget 893 million rubles the Ministry for industry and trade suggested contracts to leading Russian engineering and constructing companies for design and experimental work connected with development of some large shelf projects.
Within these projects the talk is about technology of removing of oil spots, the project of a nuclear-powered icebreaker, the system of informational support of security of navigation on the Northern Sea Route and equipment for underwater drilling. The project for elaboration of conceptual projects of floating production objects on processing of hydrocarbons is the largest of the suggested contracts with the maximum price 245 million rubles. Among the winners of the contests there are: Krylov State Research Center, the design bureau "Malachite", the scientific and research institute "Saturn" and the Andreyev Acoustics Institute. It is supposed that Krylov State Research Center will elaborate the project of the icebreaker, "Malachite" – the unit for processing of hydrocarbons. The contracts are being concluded during the time, when Rosneft and Gazprom increase work on the Arctic waters. Only Rosneft controls 44 shelf licenses with total resources 42 milliard tons of oil equivalent, the bigger part of which is situated in the Arctic, as advis.ru informs.
