The government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and SIBUR signed the agreement on cooperation

Within the St. Petersburg international economic forum the first deputy governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Aleksey Sitnikov and the chairman of the board of the company “SIBUR Holding” Dmitry Konev signed the agreement on cooperation between the government of the region and the company for 2018-2020.

The document is aimed at extension of mutually profitable cooperation and further development of economy of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, improvement of investment climate, creation of favorable conditions for solving of basic social tasks in the region. According to Aleksey Sitnikov, in fact, the agreement means structuring of that joint work, which is being conducted by the region and the company today. It reflects basic points of mutually profitable cooperation of the sides. First of all, these are issues of ecology. Being busy with development of subsoil, the company carefully treats not only raw materials but also the land of Yamal: water objects, forests and animal world. The company is open for cooperation with indigenous ethnic minorities of the North. Relations with northerners are necessary also because they are the hosts of the land, which they know like nobody else, and their pieces of advice are especially valuable. It is pleasant to see that the company responsibly approaches to the agreement, as he notes. Expressing interest in economic development of small and medium-size enterprises on the territory of Yamal that use products by SIBUR and also are ready to suggest high-qualitative products and services to the company, SIBUR together with the government of the region plans actively to participate in work aimed at development of cooperation with business community, including one aimed at active use of domestic products in production processes of SIBUR. Also SIBUR and the government of Yamal will fulfill joint activities aimed at creation of favorable conditions to increase level of population’s life through charitable and sponsor activity, investments to social sphere, including to projects on support of healthy lifestyle, in the sphere of culture and art, rendering help to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. In addition, the sides planned joint fulfillment of programs and activities aimed at support of socioeconomic development and preservation of traditional lifestyle and economy of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North and also other directions. According to the press-service of the governor of Yamal, the sides agreed on continuation of joint fulfillment of investment projects aimed at creation of new working places and increase in economic indexes of the region. In particular, the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will consider the opportunity to include investment projects specialized for SIBUR and being fulfilled on the territory of the region into the program on state support of investment activity of enterprises and organizations in conformity with conditions and order set by the Law of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, including with the aim to receive tax exemptions and municipal investment support. As we should remind, within the previous agreement between the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and SIBUR concluded in 2016 at financial support of the company the region fulfilled the project on building of a construction of ground water treatment in the town Noyabrsk, the micro-district Vyngapurovskiy with the total cost 60 million rubles. Also “Formula of good deeds” is within the charitable program of SIBUR. Since the date of the startup of the program in the company the circle of its support has included more than 30 social projects in the region.
